Some more new pieces from the STAMPEDE series

In the process of developing the recontextualise project. Introducing more items to recycle and bring together to create new and exciting pieces!

I created this piece late last night (what’s new?!). The image was found in Relics (Glasgow, Ruthven Lane) as was a small stamp collection which I featured one of my favourite stamps from.
The image really works for me. It’s very graphic-y with the boldness of the stamp and the raggedy edges. Overall I am progressing with my recontextualised project using more mediums which I recycle and give another life to.
THUMBS UP!
So that’s the first draft of my thesis handed in now! How exciting! Now i’m awaiting feedback from my supervisor and then it can be bound! It has been a great achievement to produce a written body of work as I have never done that before! My title for my thesis is ‘The Influence of Collage in 21st Century Photography’. The research project analyses the contributing factors of the collage style in the digital revolution of photography. It was a great success to produce this thesis and to gain first hand opinions of the topics analysed by some of my favourite and current working photo based collage artists.
In the last remaining weeks of my degree I am currently rounding off my body of work I have been developing over my 4th year of university which I will be exhibiting in a few upcoming exhibitions this year in Scotland. One exhibition being the end of year show which shall exhibit a body of work from each of the current students on the course. My class is currently in the mid development stages of organising our end of year show. Information which we have established so far and an insight to the photographers who will be exhibiting can be found on our website http://www.borroweddogs.com/ .
More information to come on this exhibition as we finalise an exhibition space and date for the show. I will keep this blog up to date with information.
Great watch. Very inspirational!

Will mix things up in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for some wooden panel transfer printing…
